Dear Evangers,
I wanted to take this opportunity to share a story with you and thank you for providing such a fine dog food. For the past two years, I have become involved in dog rescue. Currently, I am fostering a terrific little dog, named Jasmine. Her pic is below. I rescued Jasmine from a rural Georgia shelter in early January. She had severe mange, worms, developed an upper respiratory infection and other maladies so common to shelter pups. I took her immediately from the shelter to the vet. She was treated for several weeks and I took her home to foster last week before she could go into her wonderful designated rescue program. The plan was to have her in my home for almost two weeks. My nutritional goals for Jasmine were simple. I wanted to feed her the best possible food, help her gain weight, help restore her coat and help her to feel and look her best for her forever home. I found the Evangers dog food at our local Red Bandanna Pet Food Store. I mixed it with her dry dog food so as not to upset her stomach. Jasmine loved this food and in the little over a week that I have had her so far, she has gained 3.5 lbs., her coat is so shiny it looks wet, and the hair growth is almost complete. She looks so beautiful and you can tell she feels great. I very much believe that nutritionally superior foods are a key part to helping restore a dogs health and vigor. I am so pleased with her progress and plan to send some Evangers dog foods to her new home. She is a wonderful, wonderful, dog and she deserves the very best. Warmest Regards, Stella G
To Whom It May Concern,
I wanted to let you know how much your dog food has meant to us. We have 3 dogs, a 2-year old male 3/4 Maltese 1/4 Shih Tzu mix, a 1-year old female Maltese, and a 6-month old female Corgi. Our female Maltese is only 3-1/2 pounds. She is from a puppy mill and that is why she is so small and very fragile. She actually "died" in my husband's arms 2 days after we got her. She barely survived. Ever since getting her, we've tried everything on the market to try to get her to eat. She turned her nose up at everything, even my homemade food. She would try one or two bites and walk away. Several Vets even tried everything in their arsenal with no success. One vet went so far as to build her a smorgasbord on a plate with about 6 or 7 different foods with no success. Then we moved to Prescott Arizona and found the local feed store where they directed us to your canned dog food. Success!! She loves it!! She gladly eats the chicken thighs (I break up the bones before feeding), and she adores the Braised Beef Chunks with Gravy and the Hunk of Beef. When she continued to eat your food day after day we almost cried. We are taking our "children" to the feed store this week to weigh in because we believe, hope and pray that she has put on a few ounces. This is all thanks to your food. Even though Evanger's does cost a little more than other dog foods it is worth it! We were buying homemade style food developed by a vet in San Diego. One problem we had with the vet food was that there were no vitamins, calcium or supplements in the food and when I added it, Emmy refused to eat it. She also pulled her usual 1 or 2 bites routine with all the varieties of vet food. No such problem with your food! I love that it is complete and so good for her and, of course, the others in our family. Now that we found your food, mealtime is a lot more manageable, especially since we don't have to throw away vast quantities of the food due to our babies not eating it. Thank you so much for putting out a product with such a high standard and obviously great flavor. We will be loyal supporters and purchasers for the life of our "babies". With sincere gratitude, March 31, 2008
Dear Evanger’s,
Some time ago, pet food was something I took for granted. Yes, I checked that the cat food had no by-product meal, preservatives, etc., but beyond that, I opened cans and they ate. Then my dear, easygoing, older cat got intestinal lymphoma. He almost starved, but for a little while his strength has returned due to medication, but for a little while his strength has returned due to medication. But his appetite has become very exacting. He would eat home cooked organic chicken, an occasional sardine – and almost nothing else. No matter how good the list of ingredients or pricey the cat food, he’d take a smell or a small nibble and walk away. Recently, I happened to go into a pet store in a different section of town that carries Evanger’s, and brought home your Holistic Pheasant Dinner for Cats. That’s made an enormous difference. Both the sick cat and the well cat love it. The ill cat has been putting on weight and enjoying the time he has left partly because of the high quality (and obviously excellent cat taste) of your product. So, I wanted to send you a thank you beyond the ordinary appreciation. If you ever need a customer review or testimonial for your cat food, it will be my pleasure. Meanwhile, bless you for your superior products. Sincerely, Shai Stevens P.S. I don’t know what arrangement you have or don’t have with Petsmart, where I don’t see your products, but I will at least make clear to them that this is what I’d like to see on the shelves. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 Dear Evanger's I live in Montville, Northern New Jersey, approximately 30 minutes west of NYC. I just started feeding Harley Evanger’s recently, but have known about your company for quite a while. (I have taken a large interest in animal health and nutrition over the past 8 years and always look for the best). You are also on my vet's recommended feeding list (Dr. Marty Goldstein at Smith Ridge Veterinary Clinic) Harley always ate raw, but has stopped. He doesn't want to eat anything other than his treats & people food, and your canned entree's make it easier for me when I can't cook for him. He has his moments...last night he DEVOURED a can of "Hunk of Beef" but wouldn't touch it this morning......he's a handful when it comes to feeding time! He has a degenerative spinal condition called "Cauda Equina" and as he declines he gets pickier and pickier...you should feel "honored" that he'll eat your food, LOL... I'm just happy to have an alternative to feed him that I'm comfortable with, and your products are, in my opinion (and in your class of foods) the best!
