In 1935, Mr. Evanger, a breeder of championship Great Danes, became frustrated with the poor quality of commercially produced pet foods. He began to manufacture a quality pet food that would include all the elements required to raise champions. The original Classic Line was produced in 1935 and we continue to produce these quality pet foods today.
There’s no question that Fred Evanger accomplished his objective back in 1935. Evanger’s Dog & Cat Food Co. grew into a regional, then national, success story as word of the quality ingredients and manufacturing processes spread to breeders of show and sports dogs, veterinarians, and boarding kennels.
Seventy-five years later, Evanger’s expanded pet food line is manufactured on the original site, following the same tradition of uncompromising quality in delicious meals for dogs and cats. Our products still include natural human grade ingredients, and offer maximum energy (protein) and vital nutrients to facilitate growth and strength with no harmful additives or preservatives.
Evanger’s takes pride in truly manufacturing its own label. Many pet foods on the market today are private labeled or co-packed by a third party. Evanger’s, however, manufactures its foods at its own facilities. We at Evanger’s maintain total quality control of raw materials and processing so as to ensure superior quality unparalleled by any other company.
